New Season Begins Sept. 11, 2010
Dear Members, Welcome to our 35th season. Our entire staff, including our tennis pros are looking forward to another season catering to the needs of our members. Reflecting on the past 35 years, our facility has grown in many ways but always remains focused on the many changes the economy hands us. With this in mind, Springton will not be making any rate changes this coming season. The 3rd Annual Ladies' Welcome Back Luncheon will be held on Friday, September 10, 2010. It is a Member/Member or Member/Guest format with two hours of tennis and a luncheon to follow. It has been so successful over the past two years that you don't want to miss it. We are also having an Open House on Saturday, September 11th for anyone wanting to visit the club and meet our staff and tennis pros. Join us for free tennis and refreshments and take this opportunily to find out information regarding our Adult and Junior programs. We will also have a free rating clinic available for anyone wanting to join our Round Robin or Big Board Championship. Our 34 week 2010/20110 Tennis season begins on Saturday, September 11, 2010, with the last day of play on Friday, May 6, 2011. This season contract time will not be in effect from Friday, December 24, 2011 through January 1, 2011, inclusive. During this period ourcourts will be available for open time play and holiday events. This is also the perfect time to use your holiday make-up cards. Members who do not wish to play on their religious holiday must advise the office two weeks in advance in order to receive a make-up card. Any member who has not had their membership card validated this season, please stop at the reception desk. There will be a $5.00 replacement fee for lost cards. All group captains will have received in their brochure, a statement of their balance due for contract time and memberships for the 2010/11 season. Group captains are solely responsible for collecting and presenting all amounts due the club (INCLUDING MEMBERSHIP FEES $80.00 per person) by September 1, 2010. Deposits are not refundable unless court time is canceled in writing prior to September 1, 2010 and resold on a seasonal basis by September 11, 2010. Once again, our ball plan is available to contract groups for $100.00 for the contract season. Our supervised nursery hours are Monday though Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm at a cost of $2.00 per day per family. A letter will be available detailing nursery regulations and holiday party dates. ALL PARTICIPATING PLAYERS IN A CONTRACT GROUP MUST BE MEMBERS OF SPRINGTON TENNIS & RACQUET CLUB and will be issued a picture membership card which must be handed in at the front desk upon entering the club. We appreciate your cooperation when handing in your membership card. Our rules are provided to protect and benefit our members. Contract players may not share memberships. Non-members may play for free, as a guest, three times yearly in a contract by signing in at the front desk before playing. Subsequent visits require paying an $8.50 guest fee. We would appreciate it if group captains would inform their playing partners as to the club’s policies regarding memberships, membership cards, and guest fees.
A towel will be issued to members in exchange for their membership card only. Just a reminder...black soled sneakers are not permitted on the tennis courts because they leave permanent marks. In order to maintain the quality of our courts, we would ask everyone to refrain from taking coffee and beverages, other than water, onto the playing surfaces. Proper tennis attire is required. Springton reserves the right to make changes as it deems necessary. Please take the time to read our brochure thoroughly. If there is an activity you would like to see scheduled, let us know. Take note of our BIG BOARD CUT OFF DATE and of all the activities we have scheduled this season.
